Maari Ma is an award winning Aboriginal Community controlled health service with a solid reputation. We work to improve the health and well-being of Aboriginal people, families and communities in Far West NSW.  We operate a modern, well-resourced multidisciplinary general practice in Broken Hill and deliver services and programs collaboratively with local health service staff in communities within the region. We deliver a range of clinical and community based programs including, acute care, chronic disease prevention and management, mental health and AOD, and child/ maternal health and youth health. We also engage an impressive range of visiting (in-house) medical specialists and allied health providers which underpins our sustainable health workforce model.



Maari Ma is seeking to engage an innovative and experienced Recruitment Consultant to attract, recruit and retain general practitioners to work in our primary health care services.

The position is responsible for delivering high level comprehensive recruitment services to maintain Maari Ma’s general practitioner FTE workforce. The position takes a lead role in actively working to address general practitioner vacancies as they arise, engage GP Locums as they are required and manage GP placement and contractual arrangements. Duties are outlined in the attached duty statement.


About you

The desirable candidate will possess a solid work history in internal or agency recruitment with medical and/or health related experience essential.

You will have the ability to draw and build upon your well established medical recruitment industry links, demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills and a commitment to improving healthcare in rural and remote communities.

·        Possession of the relevant tertiary qualification and/or relevant experience.

·        Demonstrated work history in internal or agency recruitment, with exposure to medical workforce and health settings essential.

·        Demonstrated experience in marketing.

·        Genuine dedication to identifying, matching and securing high quality GP placements.

·        Strong knowledge of existing medical recruitment networks and how primary care settings operate in NSW.

·        High level negotiation skills and demonstrated experience in the preparation of placement contracts.

·        High level computing skills including a sound knowledge and experience in the preparation and manipulation of spread sheets and word documents.



·        Annual Salary between $87,000 - $112,500 plus superannuation. Depending on qualifications and experience.

·        Remote work arrangements (work from home).

·        1 or 2 year contract depending on your circumstance.  

·        Full time, but will consider 3-5 days or flexible work arrangements.

·        Flexible contractual arrangements apply – this position can be either employed as a salaried staff member or contracted as a sole trader or under trust or company arrangements.

·        Superannuation applies for salaried individuals and contracted sole traders.  Trusts or Companies are exempt.  

·        Generous salary packaging (which can increase your take home pay by several thousand dollars)

·        5 weeks annual leave plus additional paid leave over Christmas period

·        Accrued Days Off  (up to 12 per year)
